BCU One Star Award

This One day course the first award from the BCU. We will cover the BCU One Star Award syllabus. This can be done with little experience as their is time to coach during the day but would be more suitable for people to have done an intro to kayak or canoe course first please see the Course page for details  This will be carried out on flat water venues such as Cosmeston Lakes, River Wye, Brecon Promenade, Brecon Canal depending on which is the most convenient for the group.

BCU Two Star Course

This Training & Assessment course covers both canoe and kayak and is run over 2 days to cover all aspects in detail of the syllabus. This is a Pre requisite to BCU/ UKCC Level 1 Coach Award.  Previous experience needed paddlers would either need to hold a One Star award or show they have the skills of this ability.

BCU Two Star Assessment

This is a one day assessment  you must be able to demonstrate all aspect of the 2 star award throughout.  Pre requisites 2 star training or skills at the ability of the award. This assessment will cover canoe and kayak aspects

BCU Three Star White Water Kayak  Training Course

This course is will be based over two days one class I/II river and on a flat water venue covering all aspects of the syllabus. This will enable the paddler to progress onto moving water as an intermediate paddler and will give you a good foundation to start paddling white water kayaking. On completion of this successful candidate will be awarded the 3 star award and everyone will get action plans to help them to develop further as kayakers, Canoe Wales/ BCU certification Fee is not included in the course fee.

BCU Three Star White Water Kayak Assessment

This is a one day assessment were you will be assessed on the syllabus as being able to perform as a kayaker on class 2 white water in a relaxed manner as we know how stressful assessments can be. This will be based on a Class 1- 2 river based in South Wales
